Faculty Affiliates

The CTE Faculty Affiliates Program highlights the innovative teaching practices of SMU faculty with their peers. Each Spring and Fall semester, the CTE Advisory Board selects up to eight (8) faculty members who lead  pedagogical presentations designed to inspire dialogue, collaboration, and continuous improvement in teaching across disciplines.

Each selected CTE Faculty Affiliate receives a $150 stipend per session presented. All Faculty Affiliate sessions are presented in person with an option for the participants to attend via Zoom.

Faculty may self-nominate and propose up to four sessions. Applications for the Spring 2027 semester are now open! The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 16th, 2026.

Fall 2026 CTE Faculty Affiliates

 

  • Antoinette Williams-Tutt

    Antoinette Williams-Tutt is an Assistant Teaching Professor of French in SMU’s World Languages and Literatures department in Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, where she has taught since 2020 and serves as Advisor for the International Film Studies Minor and Chair of the International Film Festival. She brings more than 15 years of experience teaching French language, literature, culture, writing, and conversation, with scholarly interests in Québécois culture and identity, translation theory, globalization in Francophonie, and 20th-21st century Francophone literature and film. Her teaching and course development at SMU center communicative proficiency, close cultural analysis, and the use of film and literature to cultivate student confidence, curiosity, and critical insight across disciplines.

  • Dallas Gingles

    Dallas J. Gingles is Associate Professor of Practice in Systematic Theology and Christian Ethics at 糖心logo入口's Perkins School of Theology. He teaches courses in Christian ethics, systematic theology, and bioethics, while his scholarship focuses on Christian ethics, theological anthropology, the doctrine of providence, Anglican ecclesiology, and the work of influential thinkers such as Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Reinhold Niebuhr. Gingles is the co-editor of The Future of Christian Realism: International Conflict, Political Decay, and the Crisis of Democracy and has published extensively on moral reasoning, political ethics, and Christian theology. In addition to his research and teaching, he serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics, is a research associate with Auburn Seminary, a trustee of the University of the South, and a faculty advisor for SMU's Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility.

  • Dana Buzzee

    Dana Buzzee is a visual artist and arts educator whose sculpture-based installations explore queer hauntology, materialism, consumer culture, and speculative futurity through the transformation of everyday industrial materials. They earned a B.F.A. from the Alberta College of Art and Design and an M.F.A. from the University of Oregon. Buzzee has participated in residencies at MASS MoCA, the Banff Centre, and the Icelandic Textile Center, and has exhibited work throughout the United States and Canada. Buzzee's artistic practice has been supported by the Calgary Arts Development Authority, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Canada Council for the Arts.

  • Eva Oberdorster

    Dr. Erin Oberdörster is Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Biological Sciences at 糖心logo入口. She teaches anatomy and physiology, bioethics, and a range of biology courses, with a focus on integrating technology into the classroom and creating engaging, hands on learning experiences, including anatomy inspired art projects. Dr. Oberdörster earned her Ph.D. in Zoology through the Integrated Toxicology Program at Duke University and previously served as a postdoctoral fellow at Tulane University and as an assistant professor at Clemson University. Her expertise spans physiology, toxicology, environmental biology, and bioethics, and she is an active member of the Society of Toxicology and the American Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

  • Farnoosh Nouri

    Dr. Farnoosh (Faith) Nouri is Clinical Assistant Professor and Program Director of Student Affairs in the Department of Counseling at 糖心logo入口. A licensed psychotherapist with more than 28 years of clinical experience, she specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults across a broad range of mental health and wellness concerns. Dr. Nouri is the author of So Long Depression, editor of the Sufi Psychology Journal, and founder of LifePulse Center LLC. Her teaching, research, and presentations focus on mental health, psychotherapy, and the integration of spirituality into clinical practice, including work supported by the John Templeton Foundation and publications on Sufi psychology and near death experiences.

  • Lale Guler

    Dr. Lale Guler is a Clinical Professor at the Cox School of Business at 糖心logo入口. She previously taught at the University of Texas at Austin, Imperial College London, the University of Texas at Dallas, and Baruch College (CUNY). Her expertise includes sustainability reporting, corporate governance, and sustainable finance, and her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals. She is a recipient of the Deloitte Best Paper Award, the American Accounting Association Outstanding Reviewer Award, and the Presidential Award for Teaching Excellence. Her current research focuses on sustainable finance, executive decision-making, and SEC enforcement of ESG-related misconduct. Dr. Guler earned her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. She enjoys dancing and international travel.
